Diet Pop

15 days, can you believe it? I have been meaning to cut down on diet pop, mainly my addiction to diet Mt. Dew and I've done it! When we got home from vacation, I was out of diet Mt. Dew so I decided that would be it. In the past 15 days I have only had one can of diet pop and it has been a Diet Coke. I don't even really like Diet Coke, well excpet if it's mixed with Captain Morgan and this wasn't so why did I even drink it? I should be proud of this accomplishment, it is getting much easier, the first few days were awful. I should add that I am not giving up caffeine, I'm not that crazy and that lead to me locking myslef in a room for about a week and no one wanting to go near me.

Spirit of the Marathon

"When You Cross The Finish Line It Will Change Your Life Forever" I got Matt to go see this movie with me last night, I know a movie about marathon runner, pretty crazy. I was a theater full of crazy runners, so the pre-show conversation was pretty interesting. This was the encore showing since the first showing sold out completely. The movie was awesome and very inspirational. I would recommend it to anyone, not just runners. I just hope it comes out on DVD, this is one movie I will have in my collection.

Warm Thoughts...

This winter has been brutal and it has to end soon, they're saying it should be in the 30s by the weekend. I am really looking forward to a nice run outside. I am so sick of the cold weather, I even had to change the picture on my computer at work today. I just couldn't look at snow anymore, I needed to think warm thoughts. Back to Reality

I'm back, I won't bore you with the details of everything that has happened since my last post, but things have been going pretty good. I just got back from the gym and spent 1 hour on the bike, I ran into a TNT teammate who is now a trainer at the gym. On the running side of things the leg is still getting better. I am actually running continuously now, no walking anymore. I am up to 45 mins of running, I never thought I would be excitied about being able to do that, but that means I can get in almost 6 miles! Training for Grandma's starts on Monday, so I'm glad that things are still good with the leg and I am up to almost 6 mile runs. This isn't quite where I wanted to be and I'm rethinking the training plan I will use since my original plan (Pfitz 18/70) would have me running 12 miles next weekend, I think that might be a little much. I am just excited because it is supposed to be almost 30 this weekend! I can't wait to get outside and run again.

Getting Better

Okay so this will be a quick recap of the week's workouts, both inside on the treadmill since the heat wave is gone and we're back to negatives with wind chills at -30. No way I was venturing outside for a run, or anything if I could help it. The weather is going to get better, high in the 20s today. I can't wait for this winter to be over. Spending this next week in Jamaica will help my attitude some!
