Marathon Week 16!

Week 15 meant the final week of “real training” and guess what, more SNOW! Seriously both May 1st and 2nd brought snow here. But finally today Spring is back, to stay I hope! This week looks nothing like my typical packed week, my allergies kicked my butt and I decided to be smart for a change and sleep in, skip spin, cut runs short that felt terrible and take it easy. Wow, did I just write that?

Monday: Hilly 12 mile run with friends
Tuesday: Weights with trainer/ 2 mile walk and 7.5 mile run with group
Wednesday: Sluggish Morning 5 mile Run (cut short and walked back)
Thursday:  Afternoon weights/core
Friday: 8 mile run including my 5 by the 5th
Saturday: 5.5 miles with group
Sunday: 13.1 miles + 1 mile walk, I turned it into a training run after how I have felt (full report tomorrow). Hammy was only slightly sore but the foot was another story. No idea what this is about, it was mildly achy the last few miles but after I got home, yikes! And later I felt like I was walking on a lump L Afternoon core/strength

That is actually snow falling!
And what's ahead for Week 16 of marathon training? The Marathon! Besides that I finish my 2nd grad program on Friday! J

Goal: On Saturday I will run marathon #21 and first since October 2012. Hoping for a good race after a year of tough racing and here they are the #s I hope for A: 3:20 B: 3:25 C: 3:35 but what I really need right now is this foot pain to stop! Please send good foot thoughts my way!

Monday: Yoga, ? easy elliptical to loosen legs
Tuesday: Core & Easy evening Run (coaching)
Wednesday: Morning Run (4-5 miles) during preschool
Thursday: Morning Spin & core
Friday:  Yoga
Saturday: Marathon!
Sunday: Hike

  9. Injurys are especially hard on runners. Most people would look at it as an excuse to not workout. Not runners, there is something about runners. They have the best drive for life.

    1. So true! We get upset when we have to rest, I think this is what makes runners so strong!

  14. Wow! You are hardcore. Marathon #21??? I just started running because my wife pressured me into it and man do my feet hurt! A friend recommended I try an arch support from www.goodfeet.com for the foot pain. He even said it could help with plantar fasciitis pain.

Do any of you use arch supports or do you use anything else for foot pain?
